I’ve been flying in the sky while riding on my beloved staff for several hours. I had crossed quite a few towns and villages, so I must have already gone outside of my native territory.

It’s not a big city, but it’s of a decent size. I’m sure there’s an Adventurer’s Guild there as well. We are approaching the city gate below. The guards seemed to be checking to see if any suspicious people were entering or leaving the city.

Once I landed on the ground, I called out to the oneechan in front of me as she walked along the street.
“Hey, oneechan over there.”

She looked around nervously but she couldn’t find anyone, so she tilted her head in confusion.
“Here, here. I’m here. Please look at your feet.”
“……Baby?”
She is a girl in her late teens. She has beautiful long silver hair and clear blue eyes, she also carries two swords at her waist, one on each side.
“Yes, that’s right. Hello, oneechan, nice to meet you.”
“H-Hello… a talking baby?”
As expected, she seems to be a child with little emotion, and she is not too surprised by this situation. However, she looked around again, probably thinking that there is someone else nearby who was doing ventriloquism. By the way, Lindwurm is now using concealment magic to make itself invisible. This is because, there is a possibility that it will make others, like wolf-kaachan, feel wary of us.

“There is a baby like this?”
“Yes, there is. As you can see, I’m the living example.”
“It’s the first time I’ve seen it. It’s very unusual.”
Lindwurm seemed to be exasperated so he sends me a telepathy.
『……I don’t think this matter should just be dismissed as “unusual”. This girl seems to be quite blown away too. 』

“I’m Fana. What about you?”
“I’m Reus.”
“How old is Reus now?”
“About two months.”
“I see. Hold on tight.”
Then, while being embraced by the young girl, Fana, I safely passed through the city gate.
Of course, there was an exchange with guard at the checkpoint. They questioned things like,
“That baby.… Is that baby your child?”
“No, I picked him up.”
“You picked him up? I see…”
The matter was not investigated thoroughly though. He must have thought that the young girl had taken care of a poor baby who had been abandoned outside the city.
Anyway, I was able to enter the city without making any commotion.
