Chapter 54: World Tree’s water mirror

The body of the defeated Mithril Golem did not disappear like other monsters. Rocks, dirt, and ancient armor are still strewn about.

The golem’s core —a dark red orb —also remains, resting on the rubble that looked like a pedestal.

Solana’s thoughtful voice sounded.

『Hmm…… I think this golem wasn’t created by the dungeon. So that’s maybe why it won’t turn to ash even if it falls in the dungeon.』

“Yeah….…”

Nodding, I circled around so I could see the golem core.

I was still wondering, but Solana seemed to be a little convinced.

『I see. The golems spent a long time in the ice. Even though it is made of soil and rock, over the course of 1,000 years, magic will still pass through it. In other words, it becomes flesh and blood maintained by magic. So when the magic power is broken, it will turn to ashes like any other monster.』

I couldn’t give an answer. It’s partly because it’s so difficult that I couldn’t understand it and the remains of the golem piled up in front of me are simply ominous.

“Solana, what did you say just now?”

『……Un. For a moment, I felt something similar to those ashes.』

“Eh……?”

I looked at the exposed golem core. Red-black, an ominous color.

It’s a bit like those ashes.

“……Does this mean that it was brought in from outside too?”

Felix-san pressed his staff on the ground.

“We can investigate this later. This room will be sealed off for a while anyway. We’ll have plenty of time to look into it later.”

Mia-san crouched down and picked up the scattered weapons.

“What a waste. There’s a pretty good shield too.”

Felix-san squinted his eyes, looking tired of it.

“.….Adventurer Mia. The relics in the dungeon will be taken care of by the Raven Warriors.”

“Yeah, yeah”

Mia-san shrugged her shoulders and smiled wryly at Felix-san.

The atmosphere was more relaxed than before, and I was somewhat relieved.

After that, I treated the wounded warriors. I used the 『Divine Protection of the God of Medicine』 , activating【Valkyria’s Spoon】 to heal the larger wounds, and used healing potions for the rest.

“Okay, let’s go.”

After signaling to everyone, we returned to the unexplored area from earlier.

It’s still cold. My breath turned white. Most of the walls are surrounded by ice, and it seems impossible to enter another room from here.

“…… What are we going to do now?”

Loki replied from the gold coin.

『Fufu, can you let me out? 』

I unsealed Loki with 『Alarm』.

The doll-sized god spun around as if dancing before greeting us. His black hair and his robe of the same color swayed softly. Loki was right in the middle of the hall with his hands on the ground.

“Daeg Beorg……”

The room became brighter. The patterns carved into the walls and ceiling —which Felix-san called magic circles —began to glow. There was a sound like a rumbling of the ground, and the whole room shook slightly.

When it stopped, part of the floor sank into a square, exposing a hidden door.

“The magic here is to protect the dungeon, and it appears that it have also protected the back from the seal made by the main god.”

Loki floats softly and dives into the hidden door.

We looked at each other and trotted along.

That was so typical of Loki.

To think there was a hidden room even further inside the unexplored area…

Behind the door, there were no more ice in the aisles and the cold that hurt my earlobes was gone. After going for a while, we go up the stairs, and when we got at the top, there is—

“S-similar room?”

My eyes flickered.

This was because we came to a place similar to the unexplored space we were in earlier.

Looking closely, it’s a little smaller than the previous place where hundreds of people could enter. At most, it’s about half of that. But it’s circular, and the ceiling is bowl-shaped. There are magic symbols shining all over the place, and the only other difference is the lack of ice.

“Rion, come here.”

Loki had already moved forward.

There is a staircase next to the wall that leads to the stage that overhangs the hall. It’s like a place where higher-ups give speeches. Or it could be said that it is a bridge that has been interrupted in the middle.

Looking around from there, there’s nothing more.

At the end of the stage is a magic stone set on a cylinder.

“The device is asleep, can you unseal this crystal?”

After nodding slightly then I used my power.

“Wake up”

Skill: 『Alarm』 was used.
Executing 【Unseal】.

『World Tree, Yggdrasil’s, Water Mirror has been unsealed. 』

The ceiling was bowl-shaped. Light fell from it like a single drop. The light burst in the center of the floor, and like ripples, the brightness spread throughout the entire room.

The circular square becomes like a sparkling water surface.

“Wow……”

I exclaimed involuntarily.

The glow over the entire surface eventually subsided and it slowly began to undulate. There were flat areas and raised areas. Orbs of light were floating everywhere.

What particularly caught my eye was the four lights gathered in a flat area.

What’s this?

It seems to represent something, but I can’t seem to find the answer.

“On the flat surface…… four areas?”

I spoke the words that suddenly came to mind.

“……Could it be a map?”

I got it.

The fact that all four of them were gathered on a flat area which looked like a plain makes it seem like the four dungeons in the north, south, east and west of the Royal Capital.

Loki applauds.

“That’s right. The magic that created the world and still covers it, created a huge invisible tree. In magical terms, it was also called the Magic Tree or the World Tree. You can connect to it and communicate with beings far away. Well, the name ‘tree’ was given to it because its shape resembles a tree.”

“O-oh….…”

I could see that his face twitched.

The explanation ran through my head and fell out of my opposite ear.

“I see.”

“Uh, yes, yes.”

Mia-san and I nodded, and Loki shook his head with a look of resignation in his eyes.

“……This is a map showing dungeons around the world. The glowing places are the shelters of the gods, in other words, where the dungeons are located. Where all four of them are gathered— the Royal Capital.”

The light surface is not flat, but undulating. Some of them are raised like steep mountains, and you can get a better idea of the country’s topography than you can see on any map.

“This was used in the War of the Gods. It’s a magical communication station to keep in touch with more distant gods and allies.”

Loki looked up at me from his small figure.

“Rion. Your alarm horn, Gjallarhorn, awakened the gods in the Royal capital, but there may have been beings who could have been heard it from farther away. And this is a place to receive voices from afar.”

I was stunned.

“The horn…… you mean, there maybe a response from it?”

“That’s right. Isn’t it something you blow in the hope of getting a response in the first place?”

Loki winks.

The terrain of the entire kingdom of Asgard seems to be reproduced with light. The plains of the Royal Capital with four dungeons. The wilderness to its western side. Mountains in the distance.

While I was admiring, a voice sounded from between the mountains.

The light that indicates the dungeon is turning red and is now blinking.

“This—”

“Shhhh”

Loki puts his index finger to his lips.

——us.

Such voice resounded.

——Help us!

Then the voice ceases.

On the map, the dungeon was located where the mountains were connected. The light, which had been flickering like a candle with the voice, had now calmed down.

Felix-san spoke.

“That place…… It’s Alvis.”

Felix-san told me as I tilted my head.

“It’s a mining town, famous for blacksmithing and crafting, and it supplies the Royal Capital with a lot of weapons through the river.”

Loki grinned.

“I see. That sounds just right.”

“Just right?”

“Yes. That location, according to my memory, is a dungeon where such beings are hidden.”

I was a bit stuck.

This kind of existence —it didn’t seem like a god at all.

“Dwarves.”

Mia-san’s shoulder jerked, then she exclaimed in excitement.

“Dwarves?”

The gold coin trembles at this moment. I can see that the other gods also want to come out. I decided to unseal them too.

When the seal was lifted, everyone jumped out of the gold coin.

Sliding across the light, Solana spreads her hands. She was doll-sized and had sparkling blonde hair.

“They are also known as demigods. Many of them were allies of the gods, and they created a variety of weapons and tools. Thor’s hammer, Odin’s spear, a boat that can go anywhere…… The dwarves who excelled not in strength but in technology were the ones who created such divine tools.”

My heart raced.

This will be my first time leaving the Royal Capital.

It’s hard to be away from my family, but maybe my destination had already been decided.

Felix-san pressed his coronet.

“It’s a long way from the Royal Capital, and the enemy doesn’t know what we’ll do next. In this case, if we dare to go to a place away from the Royal Capital with all preparations done, we may be able to get ahead of the enemy.”

Solana asks me.

“Rion, what do you think?”

“Yes……!”

God’s Wake-up caller’s next stop.

It’s the land of the dwarves full of technology –Alfheim.

Chapter 53: Spear of Thunder

There are number of skills bestowed to me by God.

Only two types can be combined.

But if they are compatible, they will strengthen each other’s effects and exert tremendous power. That’s the ability, 【Duplicity】, under the skill,『God of Mischief’s Divine Protection』.

“Vooooo!”

There came the roar of the Mithril Golem.

Then the sound of the chain axe.

Followed by a magic explosion.

“Looks like you got an idea, Rion.”

Mia-san called out as she fought back.

“Go ahead and try it! I’ll cover you.”

She added. Her powerful smile seemed to give me a slap on the back.

Courage rose up within me.

Felix-san also smiled and stepped in to cover for Mia-san.

So this is what a party is huh……

“Sigris…… You have new abilities, right?”

I got a flash of inspiration.

While I’m having such conversation, the Mithril Golem turned its eyes to me.

“Wau!”

I sensed the danger. I quickly kept some distance.

Mia-san once again took over as the vanguard but I couldn’t leave it on her for long. There is a barrier that weakens magical attack, so Felix-san’s flame is also ineffective. If this continues, Mia-san’s burden will be too great.

『……Are you talking about the Spear of Sigris?』

(Yes. That can deliver magic effects over a long distance, right?)

『Yes. It sends healing effects, speed boosts, and other auxiliary effects to far-off believers via the spear.』

Perhaps it was the power of the Goddess in the sky to protect her believers far away.

(If it can also be used as a ‘spear’—)

All the gods were surprised at the plan I told them.

Uhm, I mean, it would be more accurate to say that they were shocked.

『I-, I just said it was for auxiliary, you know?! It’s true that my spear is still a spear, but……』

Sigris’ voice raised her voice.

Loki and Thor remained calm.

『Mmm, it’s possible. And duplicity can indeed do that. What about you, Thor……?』

『……The warrior who is fighting in the front is Rion. If the warrior says so, I have no objection.』

It’s settled then.

I called out to my comrades.

“Mia-san, Felix-san!”

The golem throws rocks at me.

I called out to the two of them as I rolled to the side.

“Can you stop the golem from moving?”

“Do you have a plan?”

“Yes!”

The golem launches its attack in earnest. It uses its log-like fingers to throw countless rocks at me. If I got hit it, it will probably break my spine. I desperately tries to avoid it, but I lose my direction for a moment due to the floating dust.

Still, I continued to speak out.

“Cough, cough…… All you have to do is stop it from moving! I’m going to take a big shot!”

Then came a red light in the thick dust.

If I hadn’t detected it, I would have been dead.

The golem slam its hands together, sinking the ground.

“Ugh!?”

I jumped back and moved out of danger, but shattered rocks came flying at me.

Several pebbles cut my cheek.

If it weren’t for Lu’s gauntlet, the arm that covered my face would be in tatters now.

The golem’s voice makes the air tremble.

“Fo…… Fofo ……”

It’s like it’s laughing.

The huge, distorted body was mocking us for being helpless.

My father taught me that golems are magical creature with no emotions.

….Then, such golems like this really exist?

“Rion, run!”

Mia-san’s chain axe entangled the golem’s right arm.

“A big shot, you say?”

It was the 『Axeman』ability, 【Immovable】. It had a simple effect of making the target stand still in place, but when combined with the chain axe, it became a technique to restrain the opponent.

Even the huge golem couldn’t move easily either.

“Ooooo!”

“Heh, wanna move? Then I’ll let you go.”

When the golem put in more strength, Mia-san released her skill. The golem, which had been stepping too hard to undo its restrain, lost its balance and fell to its knees.

It quickly got back on its feet, but it was enough for the three of us to gather together.

When I told them about the plan, my comrades look at each other.

“―like that huh. Mia, what do you think?”

“I can afford it. It’s you, Warrior-san, don’t hold us back.”

After saying that, the two of them smiled at me.

“Got it.”

“Count on me.”

Mia-san is the front guard, and Felix-san is the rear guard. Believing that my attack would pass, my teammates entrusted me with the finishing move.

“Ooooooooooo……!”

We glared back at the Mithril Golem as it growls. It froze for a moment.

What disrupted it were the moving chains.

“I’m good at throwing too, you know.”

The chain axes flew and entangled the golem’s head.

Felix-san’s flames struck the golem’s hand as it tried to shake the chains off.

“Keep your head down!”

Gishiii!

The sound of chains clinking echoed throughout the area. Mia-san is trying to hold the golem down with “Immovable” once again. The ground shakes with the golem’s roar. I could see that the light in its eyes shone fiercely, and it is crazily mobilizing all its magical power.

“Vooooooooo!!”

“O-oii! That’s too much……”

Just as Mia-san’s voice trembled, the magic cut in.

“Burial!”

The floor collapsed under the Mithril Golem’s feet.

The huge body of the golem sinks into the soil up to the knees. Felix-san stroked his chin and Mia-san grinned.

“……You’re doing great.”

“You too.”

The golem was trying to crawl up using both its arms. Perhaps it was its resistance to magic or the strength of the power it possessed, but gradually, its entire body began to slip away.

“….Golems are armored so that they can protect their entire body most efficiently when they are standing upright. In other words, if they’re bent over…!”

Felix-san’s coronet is sparkling.

The golem’s torso is protected by ancient armor. It was taken in from an unexplored area, but there was a gap in the back side due to its body being bent forward.

An opening.

It’s now!

“Here goes!”

Skill 『Divine Protection of the God of Medicine
【Spear of Sigris】…… Remote assistance. It transfers magical effects to the spear and delivers them to the target.

It is a power for support. For example, a healing effect such as 【White Flame】can be delivered to a distance by throwing the spear.

―Originally, that is.

『In ancient times, my companions, the Valkyries, each had their own abilities. This spear was one of them. It delivers magical effects to distant warriors……』

Now I can combine the power of the gods.

Skill:『God of Thunder’s Divine Protection』.
【Hammer of the God of Thunder】⋅⋅⋅⋅⋅⋅Shoots a strong lightning attack.

My head is spinning.

The spear should have contain auxiliary magic, but now it contains lightning. It’s a spear filled with lightning bolts.

―The true essence of 『God of Mischief’s Divine Protection』is the fusion of god’s blessings.

The mithril golem looks like it’ll come out of the hole any second now.

I’m running out of time.

『……Ready? If this doesn’t work, then you must unseal me this time. There is no shame in relying on Gods.』

Thor emphasized.

Solana encourages me too.

『No, you can do it. Stay calm, be precise, and have courage!』

“Yaa!”

I threw the spear.

The spear hurtles towards the mithril golem. Thanks to my improved physical abilities because of 【Golden Flame】, the spear penetrates the soft part between the armor.

Mia-san released her chain axe, and the golem falls on its arms.

“Vuooo!”

The 【Spear of Sigris】 is used to deliver magic over long distances. It have penetrated the Mithril Golem’s magic barrier and the tip have reached close to the core.

But it’s not over yet.

The spear is accompanied by Thor’s thunder. Lightning bolts traveled through the stuck spear  and instead of being deflected away, it was sent straight into the golem’s core.

Lightning spurted from its limbs, and the golem puffed out black smoke.

『Haha, just like an injection. Typical of a Valkyria.』

『I’ve never seen anyone use my spear like this.…』

Loki laughed.

Even though I was the one who did it, I can’t believe it was such an amazing effect.

“Vuo, ooooo……!”

The body made of soil crumbles, and the armors it had absorbed scatter like they were exploding.

“Oooo……!”

The lower half of its body had already collapsed. The golem left its legs behind and crawled towards me with only its upper body.

Its outstretched hands were trembling, perhaps out of anger.

The blue light on its head was flickering, but it was still looking towards me.

No—

“Is it looking at the gold coin……?”

That is what I felt.

It’s like an ancient giant reaching out to the gods.

『……This presence.』

The moment Solana’s voice was heard, the golem came to a complete halt. The upper body also crumbles, returning to a mass of rocks and dirt.

The exposed reddish-black orb also lost its power.

The boss layer then become quiet.

I calmed my breathing.

“We won.”

“Yes! Well done!”

Felix-san shrugs and clapped hands with Mia-san.

A refreshing pop rang out.

Chapter 52: Dwarves’ Technology

The unexplored area of the Western Dungeon was unique. It was shaped like a circular plaza, and the ceiling was shaped like an upside-down bowl that narrowed towards the middle. The walls were covered in ice. There was only a thin layer of frost at the entrance, but the further inside, the thicker the ice seemed to be.

I looked at the ceiling.

Countless patterns are engraved into it, twinkling like stars. It looked like a real night sky.

“…… It’s a magic circle.”

Felix-san was stunned.

Three people’s white breath disappears into the ceiling.

“The entire room is covered in magic runes. I don’t know what it means but…… it’s definitely an advanced technology.”

Loki’s voice sounded from the gold coin.

『I’m very good at magic. The boss golem was originally a defense mechanism built into the dungeon. The runes above is a device that protects the dungeon.』

I wonder if this what they call fantastical.

Overwhelmed, we made our way through the room. The sound of our footsteps echoed in the large space.

『I’ve been through a lot of hardships…. but I’m grateful to the people who taught me this.』

Loki muttered as he remembered something.

Eventually, the wall on the opposite side comes into view. The ice there was bigger than the one in the entrance, it was frozen halfway to the ceiling. There seemed to be a number of passages in the depths of the ice. However, they’re all blocked with ice.

Monsters were also trapped in the transparent ice. Golems, orcs and magic-wielding goblins. They were all monsters we had seen before reaching the boss floor.

Blocked by the sealing ice, it seems that we cannot go any further.

I asked thru the coin.

“…… Is there something important here?”

We came to the Western Dungeon to decide where to go next. This place is certainly an incredible space. But so far, I haven’t found anything that could provide a clue.

Suddenly, something bumped into my leg.

“We do have some old armors and weapons though.”

Mia-san picks up what I bumped into. It seemed to be part of a suit of armor, and it reflected the pale blue light of the ice. Similar weapons are scattered throughout the unexplored area, indicating that this was a battlefield at that time as well.

Loki laughs.

『It’s okay. Let’s open the way.』

At that moment, we heard a strange sound from behind. It was like rocks rubbing against each other, creaking. Immediately afterwards, a scream rang out, followed by a loud thud.

『It’s an enemy.』

The ground shook as well.

Hearing Thor’s voice, I nodded to the others.

“Let’s get out!”

At Felix-san’s signal, we run back to the boss room.

“Guaa!”

Someone was blown away as we pass by.

The person slammed against a frozen wall and appeared to have fainted. Blood was pouring from his head, and the spear he was holding was broken.

Felix-san roared.

“Sugin!”

There were three other members of the Raven Warriors who had dived in with us. They had volunteered to keep watch and had remained in the previous area.

When we returned to the battle area, I couldn’t believe what my eyes are seeing.

“G-Golem ……?”

There’s another magical creature?

Both its feet are on the floor, its right arm is hanging down, and its left arm is still missing. It looks like it is in the process of drawing in soil from the surrounding area and is constructing its body.

The golem raises its right arm to an unexplored area. Then we heard a chain of metallic sounds. The armor that had been scattered in the previous space rushed towards the golem.

Now, the giant’s body has ancient weapons embedded all over it, and the magical power it possesses increased instantly.

“O, o, oooo……!”

It is neither a groan nor a scream, but the voice of a golem.

Before we knew it, it had taken on a completely humanoid form, with sturdy limbs and a torso armored with weaponry. Its head was cylindrical, and it was wearing a particularly heavy helmet ―very similar to a great helm.

There was a blue flame in its eyes.

The intimidating presence made my skin tingle, and it was clearly a superior class to the iron golem from earlier.

“I’m so s-orry……!”

Two of the guards have been killed, and the remaining one is protecting the wounded. The only people who can fight freely are me, Mia-san, and Felix-san.

“Stay back.”

Felix-san instructed.

The voice of God echoed in my head.

A Mithril Golem has appeared.

Another boss appeared on the boss floor.

I am very confused. I’ve never heard of a second boss appearing in the boss tier.

“……A golem, but a more powerful one.”

Mia-san readied her chain axe. The chain swung back and forth. This veteran has already moved on to analyzing the situation.

“Rion, calm down.”

“Y-yes.”

“Good. This guy is someone a level 30 adventurer would challenge in a party. Moreover, it doesn’t seem to be an ordinary monster.”

The mithril golem was staring in our direction. It seemed to be waiting to see what we would do, which was quite different from a boss that would simply charge in.

“I agree that it’s not an ordinary monster.”

Felix-san butted in. He squints his eyes even more as he observes the enemy.

“It doesn’t look like the defeated boss has been resurrected. What bothers me is that it looked like it was forming a body just now.”

I used 『Divine Protection of the Hunting God』, executing【Wild Heart】.

There was a bright red light around the stomach (in human terms). It was much larger than the one from golem earlier, and the light was stronger.

That must be the golem’s central part – its core.

Felix-san muttered.

“……Did it use the Golem Core?”

Even at a time like this, that strange word caught my attention.

Keeping the short sword pointed at the golem, I asked Felix-san.

“Um, what’s that? Is it different from an ordinary ‘core’?”

“It’s a rare item found in dungeons. It’s the core of the golem itself, and if it’s recovered without it turning into ashes, it can be used to make a golem, just as the name suggests. Of course, you need the skill of a magician to do that.”

The golem slowly lowers its hips. In human terms, it’s a posture that is alert and prepared.

Approaching it carelessly would be fatal.

“Uh-huh…… Does that mean that a person can create a being like the Iron Golem from earlier?”

“Yes, if you use that item.”

I gulped.

But it also makes sense.

Magic still exist in the present age, and if it is a magically powered monster, it may indeed be possible to recreate it even now.

“When you activate the core, the surrounding material begins to form a golem. It gathers together rocks, soil, and even iron or steel plates from armor to create an improvised magical creature.”

What came to mind was a clay doll that a child would make.

The golem in front of us was probably a doll made from what was found around. It’s just that the materials were not only dungeon soil and rocks, but also ancient armors.

“In other words, as long as you have a Golem Core, it’s possible to create a golem anywhere.”

If Felix-san’s words are true, I can understand why it came out suddenly.

The gold coin trembled and the voice of God came.

Uru and Sigris are talking.

『……It’s similar to the technology of the dwarves. 』

『It’s not that it’s similar, it’s what they’re doing. Their work is being unearthed.』

Dwarves……?

Are they referring to other races that were in mythological times?

Felix-san shakes his head.

“……But why is it here?”

“Well, who knows!”

Mia-san, who was spinning her chain axe, had a very simple idea.

“Maybe we can find out if we take it apart and examine it?”

『Haha! I agree with Mia!』

Thor also let out a thunderous laugh.

The golem suddenly made a move. The golem’s step shook the ground. It raised its fist, causing us to scatter.

“Avoid it!”

Mia-san exclaimed.

Solana cheered me up like the sun.

『It’s okay. You guys won’t lose!』

I activated my skill, 【Golden Flame】without hesitation.

“Uh?”

The feet that were about to crush me were like pillars. My whole body broke out in a cold sweat as I slipped under and around it.

With such a heavy opponent, the wind spirit is ineffective.

Then—!

“Guys, let’s do it at the same time! The core is in the abdomen!”

Felix-san casted fire magic on the golem’s head. Mia-san hit the leg with her axe. I slashed at the torso where the core was.

Attacks made at the same time had a big impact. The shock of hitting three parts of the golem’s body simultaneously caused its body to sway widely.

“Guys, get away!”

Skill: 『God of Thunder’s Divine Protection』 was used.
【Hammer of the God of Thunder】…… Shoots a powerful lightning attack.

It was the final blow.

Using Thor’s skills, I slam a lightning strike into its torso. It was as if the lightning was piercing his opponent’s very core.

『Lightning on metal! Fufu, good thinking.』

I heard Solana’s voice.

But when I landed on the ground, the golem was still standing. The light in its eyes, which flickered for a moment, soon returned to normal.

“Vu, Vuoo.”

It swung down its fist.

As I jumped back to my comrades, I exclaimed,

“It did not work!?”

“…… Mithril. I see.”

Felix-san grimaced.

“Mithril has an anti-magic effect, which means that magical attacks are less effective.”

The mithril golem was unaffected by the previous attack. The only thing was that Mia-san’s attack had chipped a small part of its leg, but it didn’t seem to be hindering its movement.

“Take a closer look. Its whole body is glowing faintly.”

“It’s true….”

“That’s the armor that prevents magical attacks, so to speak.”

I looked down at the short sword in my hand.

『 God of Thunder’s Divine Protection』is an attack that can kill even orcs with a single blow. I don’t think there’s much difference in power, even compared to the magic Felix-san uses.

But if that doesn’t work…

“Does it mean that normal attacks won’t do……?”

I was breathing a little irregularly. I already used my divine skills to reach the boss level many times. If I fall in a place like this, what is worst is that…… we could be wiped out.

『Shall I go? If you can release the seal, I’ll go on a rampage.』

It was Thor who spoke.

I shake my head as my answer.

He’s my trump card. It’s still too early to use him.

“Status!”

My skills come to mind.

If one isn’t enough, I can just combine them together.

With the combination ability of 【Duplicity】, there is surely something that can pierce the armor of that golem!

Chapter 51: Golem

I slowly let out the breath I had been holding back.

I’m staring right ahead.

The opponent is huge.

Shaking the ground, the enemy slowly closes in on me. It was roughly a humanoid figure, with feet made of rock and iron, stamping on the dungeon floor. Its head is five meters tall, and a single flickering red light was visible in place of its eyes.

Iron Golem.

It is a mythical magical creature that guards the boss layer of the Western Dungeon.

『Don’t let your guard down.』

“Yes.”

I responded to Solana’s voice.

My body was already engulfed in 【Golden flame 】. I lowered my hind legs and gathered my strength. I pointed my short sword at the golem. The crystal on the gauntlet Lu had given me glittered as if to encourage me.

The giant raised its arms.

“Wauu.”

Its arms swing down, like hitting a rocky mountain.

My chance to attack.

The arm that was swung down created a perfect path from the ground to the shoulders and then to the head.

“Haa!”

I jumped into the golem’s arms. Then in one swift motion, I dashed to its head all at once.

Skill: 『Divine Protection of the God of Hunting 』was used.
【Wild Heart】…… Detection. Consumes magical power for even greater effect.

I consumed magical power and detected the golem for a moment. I saw a red aura in the back of its neck.

“Found it.”

What I was looking for was the core that maintains this golem.

It’s a knowledge I learned from my Father. Golems have a central part that sends magical energy throughout their bodies. Therefore, if the core is destroyed, its huge body will also collapse.

“The core is in the nape!”

I instantly communicated with my comrades.

“I’ll leave that to you!”

I nodded at Mia’s words.

Mia-san jumps in front of the golem to get its attention.

Thanking her, I raised the blade of my short sword to the side.

I slashed at one go.

“Uou! O-ooo….…”

I felt the red light intensify in the golem’s head. Like crumbling building blocks, the golem’s huge body crumbled, starting from the feet.

The head, where I was, also shook so I landed hastily on the ground. I nearly fell over, but someone supported me.

“Well done, Rion.”

Mia-san beamed at me.

“You pretty much soloed against the boss in the Western Dungeon. I’d say your battle level is now  around level 30.”

“Y-Yeah……”

There are skills that enhances one’s abilities just by having them. That’s the case with 『 Sun’s Divine Protection』, 『 Thunder God’s Divine Protection』and 『Divine Protection of the God of Hunting』.

I’m many times more skilled than the average person, and when I think about it, it’s out of the norm. Even in a dungeon with a recommended level of 25, I can keep up with the boss on my own.

“…..It’s only applicable for a limited time during【Golden Flame】 though.”

A red orb is exposed in the remains of the iron golem. This orb engraved with runes must be the core of the golem. After looking at it for a while, both the wreckage and the orb darkened, and eventually crumbled into ashes.

Felix-san tapped his staff.

“……It scared the hell out of us.”

He held the coronet on his forehead.

In the Western Dungeon, Mia-san and a few Raven Warriors are with us.

Mia-san spreads her arms and purses her mouth.

“What’s the big deal? We defeated it, so isn’t that good enough? Neither you nor I can just protect Rion forever you know.”

I scratched my cheek.

We’re cormades but…… Mia-san and Felix-san often clash a bit.

“Sigh. Adventurers are really….”

“You’re an adventurer too, aren’t you?”

“That’s why

“Felix-dono.”

The other warriors stopped him.

With a small sigh, Felix-san stepped back.

“W-well, yes, the battle is over.”

I forced myself to speak cheerfully.

“Now, let’s find the unexplored area.”

I think it was a little deliberate. But it’s not a lie that is our main purpose.

It was Pauline-san who instructed us to go here. It seems that there is “something important” here that has been passed down to the warriors, and that it holds the hints for finding the other gods.

I better ask the person who knows the most –no, the god who knows the most.

(Loki, the dungeon you were in…… Is there really anything that will tell us where to go next?)

『Of course.』

Loki immediately replied.

『It’s essential for deciding where to go next.』

However, it’s typical of Loki that he won’t tell about it directly.

(Hmm……)

I accepted the role of “God’s Wake-up Caller”, but my next destination remains unknown. Once the destination is decided, I’ll put my best foot forward.

“Let’s go.”

I walked forward with determination. Perhaps because it was the battle area with the golems, the boss level of the Western Dungeon was spacious.

I walk along the wall, conscious of 『Alarm』. If there was a wall that could be “unsealed”, it would have been faintly glowing. It may take quite a long walk to investigate all of them though.

My attention gradually drifted, and a certain event began to pop up in my mind.

I heard a voice from behind me.

“Don’t worry too much.”

I was startled so I turned around. It was Mia-san.

“……Eh?”

“You were thinking about your sister, weren’t you?”

This is what makes Mia-san so amazing. If I’m worried or in a daze, she calls out to me and brings me back to reality. I was looking at my silver gauntlet, so that maybe how Mia-san found out.

“There’s no point in thinking about it all the time, right? It’s still a guess that Ymir is after your sister’s power. It ‘might be the opposite’, that was what they said.”

“But.….”

Felix-san interrupted.

By the way, looking for seals is the power of 『Alarm』, so even if we’re talking I can still detect it.

“Given the circumstances, it would be strange not to be worried. To begin with, the gods took the power of creation from Ymir and used it to create the world. It makes sense that Ymir would want to regain his lost power.”

The sound of our own footsteps echoed in the quiet boss floor.

“.….Whether Luisia has the power may not be known to Ymir either. But I think that she, along with Rion, are likely to be strong candidates. The reason why the enemy is gathering slaves with “rare skills” is probably because what they are looking for is worth that much.”

Right.

If we assume that the enemy is looking for the Power of Creation, then their movements can be explained perfectly. Slave traders were looking for people with rare skills. I can’t think of a more rare skill than the “Power of Creation” .

“If it’s such an important power, then God should have it.”

“That’s—”

Felix-san paused.

“—That’s true, but that’s something that neither we, nor the gods present here, understand.”

Indeed.

The reaction of the Gods was incredible when they found out that Lu had the power of creation.

Thor even scratched his head while muttering, 『Odin, why are you putting such an important thing on earth?!』

Sigris was at a loss, saying, 『Could it have been dropped? Or maybe it was lost…?』

Uru retorted, 『Is it normal to drop something like that?』

It was probably unexpected even for the Gods.

Only Loki analyzed it, saying, 『…Something happened after the sealing.』

But what is certain is that Lu must be protected.

No matter how strong I become, it may not be enough to protect someone…..

“…… Mia-san, you’re asking anything huh.”

Felix-san looked off into the distance.

“Oh~. By the way, I wonder what the enemy plans to do if they gather all the skills.”

“About that”

As expected, Felix-san replied in a slightly sharp voice.

……Mia-san, you’re enjoying this too much.

“It seems that the enemy can take other people’s skills and vice versa. Its original owners have been putting them on hold for a long time because they are unidentified and hopeless powers, but with the existence of Ymir, it may be possible….”

It’s possible to steal power from Lu…?

After a long walk around the perimeter, we finally reach a wall that looks like it can be unsealed.

Skill: 『 Alarm』was used.
Executing【Unseal】.

The wall cracked with a rumble, revealing a gate engraved with patterns. As the gate slowly opened towards the back, a cool air flowed in.

“…… Eh?”

Suddenly, at the edge of my vision, I thought I saw a red light on the boss floor where there should be nothing. It was very similar to the enemy magic that could be detected by【Wild Heart】.

However, when I used my power to look around again, there was nothing there. There was just a dimly lit battle area spreading out before me.

Mia-san looked at me suspiciously.

“What’s wrong?”

“N-nothing. Let’s go.”

We stepped into an unexplored space.

Chapter 50: Slave Traders

A big man was sitting facing an open window.

His blonde hair, untrimmed and untied, fell in disarray over his broad shoulders. He was dressed in an aristocratic style. However, his listless, half-open eyelids, combined with his hairstyle, made him look like a hermit.

The territory he is looking at is the territory of Varis. It is a frontier ruled by an old nobility of the Kingdom of Asgard.

The Lord’s Mansion is built on a small hill and overlooks the city. Washed by the mid-afternoon sun, the walls formed a gentle ellipse. The glittering outside the castle walls is due to the sunlight reflected on the adventurer’s weapons. The adventurers ride in carriages that goes back and forth between the city gate and the dungeon, bringing in magic stones and materials.

“So you are here, My Lord.”

Even when he was called out, the man’s dry eyes did not move in the slightest.

“I’m glad to see that you’re well.”

A woman with a hood pulled over her eyes entered the room. Her black hair curls like a snake, and her bright red tongue licks her plump lips. The woman brushed the dust from her journey off her black robes.

“I’ve come back from the Royal Capital in a hurry. I want to tell you about it directly than by letter. There is a potential slave for you.”

The man finally moved. He nodded faintly.

“……By the way, where is Lord Varis?”

The big man’s eyes turned to the next room. Through the half-open door, a man’s feet were visible. It doesn’t even twitch.

The woman sighed. Putting her hand to her cheek.

“My lord…. Since you killed him, then we must find another place to hide.”

It was clear that the woman was not distressed by the death of the man lying on the ground.

“Let me report first, Gideon has resurrected Skoll from the dungeon. But there is a boy who can awaken the gods…… Wolf bone Skoll can’t come.”

“I know.”

The man finally spoke.

“I heard the horn blowing.”

The woman pulled her chin.

“……Yorh. I’m sure you’re ready for the next step.”

“Yes. I sent a letter to Gideon in the Royal Capital through the Varis family, so if we continue like this, they’ll find us. Either way, it’s time to move on from this territory.”

The woman called Yorh chuckled.

“It’s true that ‘seal’ is a troublesome thing. Since we’re affected by it as well, we need human collaborators to dive into the dungeon to intervene with it…… Even if we have the means to release the monsters, we can’t do anything if we can’t get close to them after all.”

So, in order to come into contact with humans and negotiate with them, they needed to assume the ostensible position of “slave traders” —that was the explanation Yorh and the others had always given the public.

“But—”

Yorh laughed.

“Even easier to deal with are the nobles of this country. As we had the ashes that could break the seal on the dungeons, it’s very easy to curry favor with the Varis family.….”

The big man recalls a very simple situation in which Lord Varis welcomed the slave traders. With the “titan’s ashes” that can break the seal on the dungeon in his hands, the fallen lord soared into power.

However, the Lord’s restraint in using the ashes was only at the beginning. In the past few months, monsters have grown stronger, and more adventurers have been killed. At times, monsters even roam outside the dungeon.

“Maybe it’s at least a blessing that the Lord died before the dungeon spewed out an infinite number of monsters……”

The man neither denied nor affirmed. He stared out the window with unchanging eyes.

“……The Lord challenged me.”

“Oh dear~. I guess he wanted you to put out more ‘ashes’……?”

“It was a boring Spearmaster skill.”

The man holds his hand in the air, and light appeared in his palm.

“Look. This is the mediocre skill I stole from that creature.”

He held it to his mouth and then he took a bite on it. In the blink of an eye, the light disappeared into the man’s mouth, it was as if he is devouring a fist-sized fruit.

“……Not enough.”

The man puts his hand on his left chest. His fingers grasped at his clothes as if searching for the position of the heart.

“My heart…… Where is the ‘Power of Creation’?”

“I have my eye on it. The boy with the horn must have something to do with it… That’s what I think, which is why I rode back here in a hurry.”

“How do we take it away?”

“We’ve scattered puppets made by the dwarves in the Royal Capital’s dungeon to disrupt them.”

The man nodded.

“…..Skills that humans can use to a certain degree aren’t that great.”

“I know that too. But the kind of satisfactory skills My Lord is looking for can’t be measured by human values –they’re found among what they call ‘useless’.”

Humans only value things with obvious strengths, like 『Master Swordsman』 or 『Sage』. However, some of the skills that God has scattered are difficult for humans to comprehend. Humans call it “useless.” Because they can’t use them, therefore, they can’t understand them.

However, it is often these skills that are truly powerful when mastered. They leave a lot of “divinity” behind, and could fill the man’s stomach.

“Don’t worry My Lord, we will continue to collect such slaves….…”

Yorh bows and turns her back on her master.

“All the best, Ymir-sama.”

The primordial titan -Ymir, stared intently at the cityscape and the hazy greenery behind it. His right arm groped for where his heart should be.

Ymir was one of the first people born in the world. He doesn’t have a family, he doesn’t have companions. As a part of him is lost, he had no choice but to get it back.

“I’m hungry.”

Looking for his heart that should be beating, Ymir gazed into the distance, in the direction of the Royal Capital.

Hazure Skill “Alarm”, jitsuwa fūin kaijo no nōryoku deshita. Ochikobore no shōnen wa, nemuri kara sameta megami-tachi to yasashī saikyō o mezasu

Chapter 49: Skill: 『Miko』

Skill —generally speaking, they are the blessings bestowed on everyone by the chief god Odis.

In my case, it’s 『Alarm』. Mia-san got『Axeman』. For Felix-san, it’s 『Sage』.

The bond with God is basically only one in a lifetime. It also means that most people would come to the end of their lives without knowing any god other than the main god, Odis.

I happened to have met other gods, so I’ve received the blessings of multiple gods.

“Lu, did you gain a skill?”

When I asked, Lu laughed awkwardly.

“Yes, but….…”

Lu didn’t have a single skill before. That meant that she is yet to receive the protection of the chief god, so I’m sure that she would definitely gain one.

After a moment’s pause, Lu lowered her eyelids.

“I don’t know what kind of skill it is……”

Pauline-san spoke at that point.

“It’s very rare. Usually, when you acquire a skill, you can hear the voice of God at the same time.”

“That’s right. That’s why I’ve been practicing concentrating my magical power.”

As she spoke, Lu held her hand in front of her chest. Her posture looked like she is about to push something hard. It looked as if she is trying to exert all her magical power in one go.

“That’s……”

Don’t tell me….

For a moment, I felt unbelievable. I checked again, this time, using my skill. It was the ability to appraise something unsealed under my 『Alarm』 skill.

<■■■■■■■> can be unsealed.

I had goosebumps.

When I first met Solana, she had a skill I couldn’t read. I think it was the <Divine Protection of the Sun>.

But to think that Lu had the same unreadable blessing…..

“……I think it’s sealed.”

I held my sister’s hands. I imagined breaking the seal as I summoned my power.

“Wake up.”

Pa~an! Light scattered from Lu’s wrist. Droplets of light floated in the air and enveloped the entire room without disappearing.

“……Lu?”

Lu froze as she looked above. It was as if she was hearing someone’s voice from above, through the ceiling and beyond —high up in the sky.

“Skill, 『Miko』”

Those words escaped Lu’s thin lips.

“I’ll use the ability, 【Creation】.”

Lu raised her hand on the round table. The light gathers under both palms.

“……Put magic stone here.”

Even though it’s my sister’s voice, it’s somehow different. It sounded like someone was talking alongside Lu, with their voices overlapping.

“Magic Stone please.”

My gaze met with Felix-san’s, and we nodded to each other.

“Rion-san, do as she says.”

I placed the magic stone under Lu’s hand. There was one I had recovered in the dungeon we explored today.

Solana came over flying.

“……Creation? Did Luisia say that?”

As the gods watched, particles of light overflowed from the magic stone. The particles of light began to gather in Lu’s hand and began to grow larger and brighter.

I can hear a faint heartbeat. It’s as if something is pulsating in the light.

Then there is the sound of short breathing. Lu’s eyes, which had been dazed, came into focus. But her breathing was labored.

“……To protect.”

Muttering, Lu closed her eyes tightly.

“Dear God, my Oniichan, protect my Oniichan……!”

The magical power emitted from the magic stone turned into a single ball of light. The glow slowly changed shape, as if a seed is sprouting. The shape, reminiscent of a glove, was knitted with light threads. Eventually, on the round table, a shiny silver armor appears.

I can’t help but murmur.

“Gauntlet huh……”

It’s a high-quality piece of armor that provides excellent protection from the elbow down to the fingers. Transparent crystals were embedded in the backs of both hands, a bit like the Blue Crystal short sword. Perhaps spirits could reside in them as well.

It’s nothing compared to the armor I’ve been wearing so far, which is merely a slight reinforcement of my everyday clothes. Even the gloves lent to me by the Raven Warriors are nowhere near this level.

When I held it, it was so light that I couldn’t believe it was made of metal. Moving with the short sword will not be a burden at all.

Mia whistled.

“Five fingers huh…… That’s as good as a knight’s armor.”

Other adventurers also have gauntlets, but it does not come with a separate finger design, they came like potholders. But those are cheap.

“……I’m amazed.”

Thor exclaimed.

“It’s the power of creation.”

“Right, right?”

Lu looks up.

“I created matter from magical power. It’s the skill that created the world. Even among the gods, only Odin possessed this special power, which should have been unique……”

We looked at each other.

“Why…… Luisia?”

Of course, no one can answer.

Thor spoke.

“It could be the other way around.”

“The other way around……?”

“Rion. Up until now, I thought that you were the one being targeted by the enemy, and that Luisia was being targeted because she is your sister.”

My head cooled down quickly.

“It’s the opposite. The enemy was looking for ‘Creation’ —Luisia—and they found you.”

My body shook.

“Lu, then—”

Calm down.

I need to be calm. It’s not that things have changed. Both of us are being targeted by the enemy. But if the enemy’s bigger aim is not at me, but Lu, then Lu is even more in danger than me.

“No….…”

Those words came out of my lips.

“If Lu is in danger, I don’t think I should leave her alone.”

“But—”

I shook my head at Pauline-san.

“I think I received 『Alarm』 so I could protect Lu.”

Now that I think about it, the main god Odis—or should I call him Odin now? —grants skill to people. In that sense, there must be a reason why he gave me 『Alarm』, which can do unseal.

It may all be to protect Lu, my sister, who holds tremendous power.

“I don’t want to leave Lu.”

“……Oniichan.”

Lu stood up unsteadily.

“I’ll be fine.”

“But—”

“I told you right? I’m going to get better. Besides, Oniichan should think about yourself too.”

But I can’t get my thoughts together. I’ve always thought that Lu is the most important thing, and that I have to protect her.

And yet, she even had such incredible power….

“Oniichan, if you stay in the Royal Capital, other gods won’t be able to come out, right?”

“That’s true but….…”

“I’m fine. It seems like an incredible power, so I’ll see if I can use it in my own way.”

Still, my legs won’t move. My level went up. My skills have also upgraded. But my body is so heavy.

“It was your dream, wasn’t it?”

“……D-dream?”

“You want to be an adventurer who can go out into the world, like Father.”

The many stories I heard from Father. The ancient forest I saw in the Northern Dungeon. There are still many things in the world that I don’t know. There are places I haven’t been to.

“Oniichan has woken up a lot of people. Now it’s your turn to wake up.”

“Go forward” Lu added.

“Get stronger—I’ll wait for you.”

The familiar palm of my little sister’s hand, one I’ve known since I was very little. I felt like it gave me a push on my back.

She told me to go forward. So that I could run without looking back.

Mom lowered her gaze and said nothing.

“……I get it.”

Is there a man who would not be inspired by the encouragement of his small family?

I think none. As an adventurer, I declared,

“God’s wake-up caller, I’ll take on the request!”

Pauline-san relaxed.

“Thank you. We will investigate the connection between the Warburg family and the slave traders. Now, let me tell you about the first dungeon you will visit….”

—It was the dungeon nearby.

Chapter 48: God’s wake-up caller

The enemy is the world’s first being.

―Ymir, the primordial titan.

Pauline-san kept her mouth shut for a moment, as if waiting for her words to sink in.

“Of course, it’s just a guess. But the content of what he said, the strength that overwhelmed even the warriors, and above all—”

Felix-san took over.

“I’ll explain from here.” He said.

“All the monsters that came back from the dungeon seemed to follow him. I’ve never seen anything like it before.”

He wrinkled his eyebrows and stroked the coronet on his forehead.

“Above all, he was clearly different from ordinary monsters. He looked like a human man, and one with immense power hidden within him. He seemed to ‘resemble us’ to be called a monster.”

Felix-san hesitated at this point.

It was a bit of a vague word to say that he looked like us, but it made sense to me. In that dream, the first titan created gods in his own image. “Resemble us” might be the same as how Lu and I resemble our Mom and Dad.

“In that battle, the Raven Warriors were greatly reduced in number.”

Pauline-san spoke.

“Therefore, even if the power of the nobility increased to the east of the Royal Capital and even though we knew that there were slave traders there, we could only let them be for a while. Until we got the conclusive evidence in the form of these ashes, we couldn’t oppose the power of the nobles.”

The princess bowed to us. Her tall hat tilted, and it looked like a tower was about to fall.

“……If I had enough strength, I would have entered the Eastern Dungeon much earlier.”

Mia-san speaks up.

“……You, no, Commander, the reason why you entered the Eastern Dungeon was because there were not enough people?”

“That’s part of it, but the main reason is that I feel obliged to check the current state of the Eastern Dungeon with my own eyes. We are responsible for the east side of the Royal Capital after all.”

Once Pauline-san had finished speaking, silence fell in the room.

We’ve learned a lot about the enemy we’re fighting against, but that doesn’t mean we’re in a better situation……or has it? The enemy is powerful. Even the Raven Warriors couldn’t win. It even has the power to revive monsters.

Here we only have…..

My gaze met Solana’s, who is floating in the air. The goddess nods at me encouragingly.

“The Gods huh.”

Mia-san clapped her hands as if to cover my muttering.

“……I get it. So it’s no ordinary guy then.”

Mia-san summarized it roughly.

Pauline-san looked at her in surprise then she sighed very deeply.

“Yes, that’s correct….. Well, you’re really an adventurer huh.”

Mia-san shrugged her shoulders slightly.

“A-anyways, our enemy is no ordinary person… that’s what I’m saying.”

Mia glanced at me.

Oh, I get it.

It’s time for “negotiation” from now on.

“The word apocalypse means to destroy —or rather, to destroy again——both gods and humans. I think that’s what it means.”

Immediately after defeating Skoll, we received a whole message from God. I’m sure that’s why adventurers are preventing this apocalypse.

“Rion-san.”

Pauline-san looked at me.

“You have found the ‘unsealed,’ and you have awakened the horn that awakens the gods.”

Pauline-san continued.

“I would like to make a request to the adventurer Rion, who was the wake-up caller of the Royal Capital…… I want you to go to another dungeon and do ‘God’s Awakening.’”

I thank Mia-san with my eyes. If I hadn’t thought that negotiations would start beforehand, I would have been swept up in the atmosphere.

“Oniichan……”

“Lu, it’s okay.”

I took as much breath as I could in my stomach, calming myself down before answering.

Since we are negotiating, I should start with non-negotiable conditions.

“My sister and I are already targeted by the enemy, right? You guys will protect our family for sure, correct?”

“Of course. There is a seal here that keeps monsters away, just like in the dungeon. If the enemy is a monster, this will be a difficult place to attack.”

I nodded and then I pulled out the horn out of the pouch.

The next step is to check the premise.

“This horn, Gjallarhorn…. I know that you are relying on it. But now this horn seems to have lost its power.”

The horn on the desk was beautiful, but it didn’t have the kind of light that shines from the inside like it did when I used it before.

I don’t know if God will wake up just by my alarm skill. So, it’s very important to know if the horn can regain its power.

Thor walks around the round table and approaches it. Even though he was the size of a doll, the round table shook with each of his step. With his fiery red hair, he stops in front of the horn.

“……Isn’t this one of Heimdall’s sacred items?”

He squints nostalgically and strokes the surface of the horn with his thick fingers.

“I believe this one was found during the ‘Blood-Red Sunset’, right?”

“That’s right.”

Pauline-san nodded, and Thor narrowed his eyes.

“Heimdall, the god who owns this was the gatekeeper of the gods. He would watch from afar, and when a battle began, he would blow this horn to increase the power of the gods. He was also a first-rate warrior, but….”

I kind of understand what Thor is trying to say.

“I guess he fought Ymir.”

“Yeah. If he hadn’t been defeated, he would have been a strong ally, and we could have heard more about this horn…”

This sacred item also had its owner.

Suddenly, I remember the time when I was fighting Skoll.

“Oh, that.”

“Hmm? What is it?”

“I think I heard a human voice coming from the horn at that time. Uhm, I thought I heard something like, ‘My horn’.…”

“W-what?”

Thor looked intently at Gjallarhorn.

“Oh, you should have told me that sooner.”

“But it was only for a moment……”

I heard the voice in the middle of the battle with the Skoll. At that time, there were the raven warriors and various gods appearing, Solana gaining new powers, and a lifetime’s worth of surprises coming at me in a succession.

To be honest, I still don’t think I’ve sorted it all out.

“Well, I suppose that’s true from Rion’s perspective. Sorry, but this is big information.”

Thor stroked his chin. His red eyes are calm, he got the image of a reliable God of War.

“That god isn’t the type who falls easily. So..…”

Thor crosses his arms and thinks.

Away from the horn, he sat down with the pouch of ashes on his backrest.

“…… I certainly feel the power from that horn. If there is a god inside, it’s not that it’s no longer usable, but that there’s a time when it should be used, I guess? Hmmm…. Something that can’t be ‘unsealed’ normally —perhaps it only works when it awakens something special.”

Solana picked the horn up.

“Hmm…… In fact, it was like that in the fight against Skoll. I don’t want to make any assumptions, but I think there is plenty of hope in your conclusion. If there is indeed a God inside of this, it would explain why it only works on certain situations.”

“Does that mean it could be useful when breaking the seal on other gods?”

“That should be right.”

The horn on the table is still without its light, just like before. But if I can meet a God again, it may regain its power when I awaken it.

Solana placed the horn down and landed next to it. Then she looked up at me.

“Many of your skills are the result of divine abilities that have been distributed to humans, so you must have inherited the power of Heimdall, the Lord of the Horn, in the first place. Your alarm will be 100 percent effective with the right tools…… I think that’s the relationship between you and this horn.”

Loki and Thor, as well as Sigris and Uru, seemed to agree with Solana’s words.

My heart, which had been cold, became a little warmer. It’s a small fire of hope, but it’s enough for now.

“……Maybe I can do it then.”

God’s wake-up caller.

Like the other adventurers, I’ll be out and about.

“……Is that okay?”

Mom raised her hand.

“Are you certain that my son and daughter are being targeted by the slave traders?”

Mom stands up straight, staring at Pauline-san and the gods.

“Mom, that’s….…”

“Rion, let Mom hear it first. You’ve worked hard up until now, so… I want to hear it properly and be convinced.”

My mom doesn’t like that I’m in danger. She’s worried about me. If I leave the Royal Capital, naturally, I won’t be able to see Lu or Mom for a while.

It was Pauline-san who responded.

“Unfortunately, it’s very likely.”

“I’m sure Rion has some powers, but what about Luisia……?”

“Madam, on the point.”

Pauline-san paused.

“As for Rion-san’s sister, she may no longer be just an ordinary girl.”

My mom and I looked at Lu in surprise.

My sister nods stiffly.

It was a little late, but I now realized what Lu meant when she said she was “practicing her magical powers” while wearing temple clothes.

“Oniichan, me too…… Looks like I’m able to use skill now.”

Chapter 47: Ymir

It must have been because the word “apocalypse” came out in our conversation. The unsealed gods jumped out of the gold coin. They were all doll-sized and each of them sat on a table.

“They are…… G-Gods?”

Pauline-san murmured, and Mia-san pursed her lips.

“They’re all so small…..”

“Ahem- ……Well, we can feel the same sealing magic as the one in the dungeon here. In this way, we’ll be able to talk to you longer you see.”

Those were Solana’s words.

But I was grateful that they came out in their tiny form. If they came out in their original form, Thor would surely break some furniture…… With those carved shelves and vases by the fireplace, I’ll end up in debt again.

With her blonde hair flowing, Solana floated to the center of the round table.

“Nice to meet you, believer of Odis.”

Starting with Solana, the gods introduced themselves and talked about their true myths.

Thor, the god of thunder, talked about the myth of creation and the trigger of the apocalypse. Sigris, the god of medicine, talked about the brave fighting of humans. The hunting god Uru, talked about the situation of the battle from the eyes of a hunter. Loki, spoke about the reason why Odin, the god who was at the center of everything, made the seal.

“——Thank you.”

Pauline-san took a deep breath.

“Some of it is new to us, but it’s mostly the same as the myth that has been passed down by the royal family.”

“Did you know……?”

“Yes.” Pauline-san nodded.

It’s not surprising when I think about it…… I guess. Since Pauline-san and her group are in charge of the dungeons, there must be a secret that only their warrior group knows.

“Only the royal family has inherited a myth that is close to the truth since the founding of the country. That’s why they know the importance of managing the dungeon.”

The princess glanced at my mother.

“We explain things differently to the public though.”

I am worried. Mom looked stunned and was at loss for words. Her mind may be as blank as her white robe.

“……Sorry Mom. You’re surprised, aren’t you?”

Mom put her hands to her temples.

“Y-yeah. I’m surprised, but…… if anything…… it’s because of your strength Rion.”

She sighed and she looks a little hunched. That’s how deep her sigh was. It’s also because I’ve kept it to myself. It maybe heartbreaking for her.

Lu is also looking up at Solana who is floating on the table.

“You are that goddess, weren’t you……?”

Her big sky-blue eyes blinked.

“Mom, my body got better because the goddesss over there healed me.”

Solana nodded, her blonde hair swaying with her movement.

“I see…… So that’s it huh.”

Mother muttered softly and then she smiled at me.

“It’s okay.”

As she spoke, she looked at the gods at the table.

“It may be true that what I believed in may have been a little different, but I believe that what I was taught and what I did at the clinic is right.”

Mother stands up and makes eye contact with Solana, who is floating in the air. Then she bowed slowly.

“Since you have cured Luisia, I must thank you. Solana-sama…… right?”

“A-ah!? N-no, likewise.”

Solana scratches her head shyly and then flies towards me.

“You have a good mother, Rion.”

She whispered something like that to me. I’m proud of it though.

Pauline-san smiled.

“……You could say that Madam is a true believer. That being said, I didn’t know that the chief god had changed his name either. We’ll need to wait a while and confirm what we know.”

Pauline-san’s eyes fell on the black ashes on the round table.

The doll-sized manifested gods also stand around the pouch. Everyone had serious eyes.

“We must confirm the identity of these ashes. The Fire Giant that appeared at the apocalypse…… Are you sure of that?”

Loki, dressed in black, bows deeply to Pauline-san.

“Yes, it’s almost a certainty. The presence is so similar, and that fire is the only one capable of breaking the seal of the gods.”

“In that case, is there the body of that giant somewhere……?”

Pauline-san looks down.

Felix-san, who is in the seat next to me, slumped his shoulders.

“We have more things to explore…… the members of the group can’t even rest.”

Uru’s eyes welled up with tears as he nodded repeatedly. He knows it’s tough on the front lines.

They must have had a hard time…

Pauline-san thanked the gods and returned to the topic.

“Now, let me tell you about the enemy who is using these ashes.”

Pauline-san looked over at us.

“The “resume” of the apocalypse was what the being who was reviving the dungeon said directly to the Raven Warriors.”

At that point, Pauline-san paused.

“It is during the ‘Blood-Red Sunset’ which was the mass outbreak of monsters that occurred in the west of the Royal Capital.”

Our family froze.

“It’s the battle where my father died.”

“The Raven Warriors also sent a lot of warriors at that time and…. we lost them.”

Pauline-san’s voice darkened a little.

The Princess reached out for the ashes and scooped up the spilled parts with her fingertips. The ashes quickly turned into black smoke and disappeared, and her gloves returned to their pure white state.

“The existence of the ashes and the slave traders had been known since back then. However, we had not yet been able to link the two. The seals in the dungeon had loosened —we had become aware of this phenomenon, so our members had been actively investigating it.”

Pauline-san looks at me. Her green eyes were beautiful, but I get the feeling that it is filled with a very strong emotion.

I straightened my back to stop my breathing from becoming shallow.

“P-please continue.”

“The place where the ‘Blood-Red Sunset’ took place was actually a dungeon that had not yet been discovered, and a monster was also found nearby. As part of the investigation, Felix here and your father’s party went there. Then—”

She stammered a little, perhaps because of the sad development afterwards.

“A powerful monster has risen from underground.”

“That monster…. what type is it?”

It was Felix-san who responded to Thor’s words.

“It was huge, it looked a lot like a human, but it should be over two meters tall. There is no armor, and most of the skin is bare. But there were some kind of barrier that prevented us from attacking it.”

Felix-san spoke softly and calmly. But having been with him in the dungeon, I could tell he was scared. Because sometimes he seemed to clench his hands tightly, as if trying to stop himself from trembling.

“We found the same ashes at the site of the battle. There’s no doubt that he was someone who had been sealed in the dungeon and then resurrected.”

“Is it stronger than Skoll?”

Felix-san smiled wryly at Mia-san’s question.

“It can’t be compared to that. Can you imagine a large party of adventurers, including level 50 ones, being wiped out?”

Felix-san shook his head.

“……Excuse my impoliteness. You see, we gathered all the adventurers and Raven Warriors from the vicinity at that time.”

“I’ve also heard that it was a big battle.”

“It was like a decisive battle between monsters and adventurers. Although we defeated most of them, we also suffered heavy losses.”

“How much—?”

I asked, and Felix-san looked a little pained.

“At the time, we had several hundred members, but now there are just over a hundred. Our former commander died from injuries sustained in that battle.”

Father died fighting the enemy that attacked the royal capital—the enemy that was now after Lu and me. It’s not just about the monsters. As an adventurer, he was truly trying to protect us.

“Suffering such heavy losses, the enemy’s main force decided to escape. The giant monster spoke these words as he was about to flee from us.”

――I am the primordial titan.

――The world created from me will be returned to me once again!

“――Therefore, the apocalyse will be resumed….. That’s what the giant’s final words.”

At the mention of the primordial titan, something crosses my mind.

The dream that Solana showed me. The first creature to appear there, Ymir. He has the power of creation, and what he creates but doesn’t like will be……

“E-eaten…..!”

It was such a horrifying memory. Perhaps it was natural for that being. After all, he was the first being in the world. The power of creation is in its existence. It was all originally part of his body.

Pauline-san struck her staff.

“From the story of the gods…. It can be deduced that the one who annihilated the Raven Warriors and killed your father was the original titan ―Ymir.”

The cry of the newborn that reverberated throughout the entire world that I had heard in my dream. ―I felt like I am hearing it from outside the window.

Hazure Skill “Alarm”, jitsuwa fūin kaijo no nōryoku deshita. Ochikobore no shōnen wa, nemuri kara sameta megami-tachi to yasashī saikyō o mezasu

Chapter 46: Father, Adventurer Rutger

We were driven back from the dungeon by a carriage. It was already well past noon, and the sun was setting. It had taken up most of the day, but considering we had entered two dungeons, I thought that was still pretty quick.

When the Raven Warriors mourned for the warriors in the Southern Dungeon, they gathered their bones and armor together to create a tomb for them. Thus, it took some time.

I think it’s a success as an exploration. My level went from Level 18 to Level 19, and I defeated two bosses. The skill 『Divine Protection of the Medicine God』 also gained a new ability called 【Spear of Sigris】.

“We’re almost there.”

I muttered upon seeing the white wall outside the carriage’s window.

The base of the Raven Warriors was located outside the royal capital. But it is surrounded by a magnificent wall, and three tall towers protrude from the inside.

The carriage stopped in front of the moat, and then we crossed the bridge that was lowered down. The carriage proceeds slowly through the gate. Under the tower, which I could see from the outside, a girl dressed in white is waving at us.

“Oniichan!”

Lu……

Next to her is Mother. Both of them are dressed in white robes. I am used to seeing mother in her hospital uniform, but as for Lu, I didn’t recognize her at first.

“Let’s get off.”

Before Felix-san said those words, I was already jumping out of the carriage.

“Welcome back.”

“I’m back.”

After exchanging a short greeting with my mother, I looked at my sister’s clothes.

“I’m back, Lu. You look good on this outfit.”

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to buy new clothes for her, so her being able to wear different clothes feels fresh.

“Did you get it here?”

“Y-yes…… Oh and, I’m practicing using magical power.”

“But are you really fine staying up like this?”

“I’m fine. Geez!”

Lu smiles wryly. Her sky-blue eyes blinked, and her hand pointed to the entrance to the tower.

“More than that, there’s something she wants to tell Oniichan.”

Pauline-san, who was holding her staff, bows to us. Her white attire was similar to Lu’s, but her high hat stood out.

“Oh…… I see.”

My throat moved.

I am about to hear about what had happened yesterday. About my father. Gideon. And those slave traders.

There were so many things that I want to know.

“Rion-san, please come this way.”

Led by Pauline-san, I entered the building.

I said goodbye to most of the Raven Warriors who entered the dungeon with me, and Felix-san was the only one left to accompany me. We were led to a room with only one circular table. There were many chairs around it.

When I saw the next person who came in, I greeted her.

“Mia-san.”

“Oh~”

Mia-san replied with wide eyes. Her red hair, tied like a cat’s ears, swayed slightly.

Mia-san looked at Pauline-san with her mouth tilted.

“……I see. So, this is what it’s all about when you suddenly called me out.”

“Yes. I would like you to listen to my side of story. If we can come to an agreement, that is.”

Agreement……?

I wonder if Mia-san was also negotiating something with her.

Pauline-san cleared her throat.

“Sorry to have kept you waiting. As a member of the Temple of Odis, I apologize for the delay in my explanation.”

Pauline-san excused herself and gestures towards the exit of the room. Then the door closed. Maybe soundproofing magic was used or something. This room is really a closed space now.

“First of all, I would like to thank you.”

Pauline-san looked at me and narrowed her eyes.

“Especially Rion-san. Without you, the royal capital would have been destroyed much more severely. And—”

Her mouth trembled.

“We apologize, but it can be said that we are responsible for the appearance of the monsters from the Eastern Dungeon and the torment of the nobles that Rion-san suffered.”

I tucked my chin in. An important talk is about to begin. There was a weight to it. Both Mother and Lu are also nervous, and their expressions are tense.

“Let’s talk in order. Let’s start with your father. Rutger-san, the adventurer who was helping us.”

I had expected it, but I was still surprised. My mother’s eyes widened as well.

“Y-you mean he was a member of the Raven Warriors?”

I asked, but Pauline-san shook her head slowly.

“No, I mean as collaborators. Our group members are limited, and it’s better for our investigations if people don’t know we’re involved. That’s why we sometimes ask skilled adventurers to help us.”

Father was an adventurer who took a job from the Raven Warriors then.

“Of course, we did not put the name of our warrior group in the request. We pretend that it is a request from an ordinary merchant, noble, or researcher. We’ll give them a reward and have them investigate the dungeon on our behalf.”

Certainly, if the bad guys suspect that someone is investigating them, they will surely erase the evidence. In that sense, there may be ordinary adventurers who are accepting requests from the Raven Warriors without even realizing it.

“Speaking of which……”

The receptionist at the Adventurer’s Guild also said that she had hardly seen the warrior corps. Perhaps they rarely work under the name of the Raven Warriors.

“Father was more accomplished than an average adventurer. A level 50 adventurer is hard to replace. Many warriors have been helped by father. Probably.…”

Pauline-san smiled wryly.

“Rutger-san may have been dimly aware that his client was a member of the Raven Warriors. We continued to ask for his help because he was a brilliant person, and the members of the group respected your father.”

Pauline-san turned her gaze to us. We all looked at each other.

“He…… didn’t say anything.”

“I didn’t know that either.”

“I see. So he kept it a secret until the very end……”

Pauline-san looked down. When she looked up, I felt that the will in her green eyes was strengthening.

“The Raven Warriors are chasing a certain group since the previous generations.”

Her voice seemed to be a little lower.

“They’re slave traders.”

It reminds me of Gideon. His purpose was to enslave me.

“They gather slaves with different skills. Slavery itself is prohibited in the Kingdom of Asgard, and I heard that they treat them particularly badly. Some are found when they’ve become invalids. You may wonder what happens to the slaves they abducted right? Sigh. Due to the nature of the situation, even the Raven Warriors can’t keep track of them all.”

Even in the fight with Skoll, there was a woman who seemed to be aiming at me. She also talked about Lu.

So…. they were the enemy.

“This one is particularly threatening.”

Pauline-san placed a pouch on her desk. It looks a lot like the one I picked up from Gideon.

The contents are like charcoal. It was black, but sometimes it glowed red, as if it’s still hot. It looks dangerous and eerie, yet it is also beautiful enough to draw you in.

“We confiscated it from Gideon’s Warburg House. It’s said to be ashes.”

Mother retracted her hand.

“……Ashes?”

“It is an ancient relic from the mythical era, and if you sprinkle it in the dungeon, the seal of the monsters inside will be greatly weakened.”

Mother and Lu exchanged confused glances at each other.

Mia-san’s expression didn’t change but she leaned her elbows on the table as she stared at the pouch. It may be that her judgment is still not final.

I noticed Pauline-san’s gaze at me, so I spoke up.

“I heard from Gods that it was the ashes of a titan.”

“……I see. Titans……”

Pauline-san’s tall hat tilted as she looked down. I suddenly wondered.

Does she know the real myth?

That the Gods almost lost, and there were titans involved, not just monsters.

“Hey, can I ask something.”

Mia-san tapped on the table. The corners of her eyes are already drooping……

“There’s so much to ask and it’s a bit confusing. So, you mean they are not just slave traders?”

The princess mumbled as if she had been knocked out of her wits. Then she cleared her throat loudly.

“T-there’s no doubt about that. Perhaps their purpose is to ‘redo’ the apocalypse.”

At that moment, I could feel the gold coin vibrating.

『Rion』

It was Solana’s voice.

『It’s about time for us to show up. Is that okay?』

I nodded.

I then placed the gold coin on the round table. The palm-sized gold coin reflects the light from the window. The carved goddess was smiling gently.

“Oniichan, is that……?”

Lu asked anxiously. I smiled at my sister and then called out to the Gods.

“It’s okay…… Wake up.”

Now, it’s a face-to-face meeting between the Raven Warriors and the gods.

Hazure Skill “Alarm”, jitsuwa fūin kaijo no nōryoku deshita. Ochikobore no shōnen wa, nemuri kara sameta megami-tachi to yasashī saikyō o mezasu

Chapter 45: Spear of Sigris

Leaving the rest area, I immediately used my ability, 【Wild Heart】. My senses permeated the entire floor. In order not to repeat the same mistake, I accurately tracked the enemy by their footsteps.

Is it big or small?

Are they getting closer or going farther away?

Once I pay attention to the difference in sound, I can search more efficiently than before. But at key points, I use magical powers and switched to light detection.

“I saw five red lights in the next room. They were all the same size and they weren’t hiding.”

This is how I inform them before the battle.

【Wild Heart】detects monsters as red light. The search range gradually expands from the vicinity. So, if I want to look for enemies hiding around us, I only need to put my magical power into it for a moment.

This way I won’t use up too much magical power.

Felix smiles.

“Got it. Looks like you’re used to your search ability already.”

Felix wielded his staff and gave instructions to the warriors with his fingers. The four adventurers nodded silently.

I think it’s a secret sign, but I can’t understand it.

“Um, just now…… what are you—”

“It meant to push our way through. Rion-san, I have a good idea of your abilities, so we’ll increase the speed of our attack from here on.”

We continued to advance through the lower levels while keeping encounters with enemies to a minimum. And as expected, 【Wild Heart】is very useful.

『…… He’s making good use of my blessing huh. 』

『Yes. It’s certainly important to conserve it. 』

Uru and Thor are having a conversation from the gold coin. I can also hear the voice of the goddess.

『Rion, be careful. 』

( Yes! )

I’m only level 18 now. A little lower than the level 20 which is the recommended level for this dungeon. But if we keep going like this, I may be able to upgrade my level again soon.

“Hey!”

I kick the ground and slash at a monster called a Wraith. It’s a floating monster that does not make footsteps. But I detected them before their surprise attack came.

“Ooo…… Oo……!”

Like a fog blowing away, the Wraith fades and disappears. A small magic stone crystallized and fell to the ground with a clank. We fought battle like this for countless times.

This dungeon is cold, but I still wipe the sweat from my brow.

I look in the direction we are going. The staircase leading down was wider than anything I had ever descended, and there were collapsed pedestals on the left and right.

I wonder if it was decorated with stone statues long time ago.

The moment I thought so, the gold coin vibrated, and Sigris’ voice echoed in my head.

『…… It’s about time. 』

Beyond this is the deepest part of the dungeon.

The 8th floor –the boss floor.

“Mm, let’s go.”

On the stairs, a candlestick is burning with a pale blue flame, as if inviting us in. After descending, we found ourselves in a circular hall and there are many straight roads diverging out from it. There must be a boss room at the end of it.

Most dungeons had multiple rooms where you could fight a boss, allowing several parties to challenge them at the same time.

……Come to think of it, this kind of ingenuity for adventurers may also be God’s arrangement.

“There are 13 paths to choose huh……”

Hmm, where should we go?

Sigris’s voice answered my question,

『From what I remember, you should be able to reach the same area from any of the rooms.』

Alright, let’s make a decision at once then.

I faced Felix-san.

“I think we can reach the unexplored area from any of the boss rooms.”

“Oh? Let’s go straight then.”

After he told so, the group of raven warriors tacitly moved in front. One of them opened the door and I entered the boss room as the last guard.

――――――――――――
Draugr Lord has appeared.
――――――――――――

God’s voice echoes in my head.

There is a chair in the boss room. The darkness of the space converged, and a monster appeared in its place.

It was dressed in luxurious gold and silver attire. Its eye sockets were hollow, and it looked as if it had been reduced to just bones and had traded its treasures for a new body. It carried a large staff, with a hook at the end that looked like a monster’s claw.

Sigris told me.

『In the age of myths, there were users of evil magic who descended upon the giants and mastered the art of controlling corpses. They even turned themselves into undead and attacked this dungeon…』

Red-black flames are burning at the location of its eyes.

And perhaps its growling voice was an ancient chant. Magical lights were emerging all over the large room as it open and close its jaw. Skeletons and draugr appeared, as if crawling out of the swamp.

“……It doesn’t seem to have been particularly strengthened like in the Eastern Dungeon.”

Felix-san calmly gives instructions to his members.

“Rion-san, are you ready?”

I gave a small nod as I continued to watch the undead crawling out.

Maybe this is what happened in the Southern Dungeon a long time ago. The Draugr Lord, the master of the mound, came and summoned his allies. He then created new kindred from the fallen warriors. He was the one who turned this place into the Cathedral of Darkness.

“Oo, ooo……!”

The Draugr Lord seems to be laughing. Maybe he thought we were scared because we weren’t moving.

“Solana, is it okay?”

It’s a sad myth, but it’s certainly not over yet.

I think it would be so much better if Lu is completely healthy and we could all live together in a world where we could proudly say, “God protected us!”

『Of course. 』

I checked my short sword and then I commanded,

“Wake up.”

I released Solana from the gold coin. She rose into the air, scattering sunlight. Seeing that, the Draugr Lord froze. It must have been the first time he had seen sunlight in hundreds, maybe thousands of years.

“Rion, I will respond to your wishes!”

The gold coin sticks to the short sword and become one with it. A golden light emanates from the tip,  just like when Skoll was defeated.

Skill, 『Sun’s Divine Protection』was used.
Sword of the Daughter of the Sun】 ……Imbues the daughter of the Sun in a weapon.

A special attack on the undead by the sun. The summoned skeletons turned back into black ash before they could even crawl out.

The Draugr Lord stepped back in fear. His mandibles agape, as if to say, “This is different from what I know!”

Just in case, I also activated 【Golden Flame】, accelerated and jumped at it. When I raised my short sword, the great sword of light reached the ceiling.

May the morning sun wake you up from this bad dream……!

“Ooooo……!?”

The Draugr Lord was swallowed up by the light and disappeared. Several fist-sized magic stones rolled to the stone floor with a heavy clank.

“……J-just one hit……”

Perhaps because of the brightness, Felix-san is rubbing his eyes.

“Felix-dono, do we need to—?”

“No. But, at this rate, we may be the ones being protected by him…”

After retrieving the boss’s magic stones, the next step was to investigate the unexplored area.

There was a hint that the seal could be removed from behind the chair where the Draugr Lord was sitting.

“It’s this wall huh…… Wake up.”

Skill『Alarm』was used.
Executing 【Unseal】.

The unexplored area of the Southern Dungeon was the most cathedral-like space in this dungeon.

The high ceiling glows faintly, illuminating a space that could fit hundreds of people. The floor and walls were white, and if it were brighter, the word “majestic” would be more appropriate.

However, weapons and bones were scattered at the ground right now. Monsters were frozen in the surrounding walls as well, and several Draugr Lords, the boss-like masters of the tomb, were also trapped there.

『……Such high-ranking monsters like these invaded the place. One after another, undead were created from fallen warriors.』

Sigris’ words made my heart ache.

I guess the scattered bones were those who escaped becoming skeletons even though they were defeated by the monsters.

“Let’s offer a prayer”

Felix-san put down his staff.

“The temple’s prayers also have the effect of preventing people from turning into undead. It’s too late now though, and I don’t know how effective it will be in the dungeon…”

The Raven Warriors check the inside of the cathedral.

Eventually, they gathered in the center, and each of them knelt down and offered their condolences.

“As warriors of Odis, this is dedicated to the heroic spirits who fought alongside the gods. May they now put down their swords and rest their shields, and rest in glory and remembrance.”

The dimly lit unexplored area was filled with words of prayer.

『Rion, can you let me out?』

(Eh? But….…)

『Just for a little while.』

With that wish, I unsealed her.

Scattering blue light, Sigris appeared. Her one eye was hidden by her hair.

Seeing a god for the first time, the warriors are also amazed. She showed up not in the size of a doll with reduced power. Sigris is in her original form, slender and tall.

“Thank you all.”

The goddess bowed and walked to the back of the unexplored area. There is a small shrine with a spear sticking out from it.

“This is where I was imprisoned, and there were other gods called Valkyria—but now it seems that I am the only one left.”

Sigris folds her hands together and closes her eyes. She may have prayed for her companions.

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to clear everyone’s grievances but…… I, Sigris, we’ll start fighting again.”

The goddess returned with a spear in her hand.

“That’s ….…”

“This is a sacred item from back then. This is where the Valkyries fought to prevent monsters, but this is all that remains.”

Just before returning to the gold coin, Sigris’ body glowed blue and she smiled at me.

“Let’s go. And thank you, Rion, for listening to our wishes.”

『Spear of Sigris』 can now be used.

The Southern Dungeon was the last one we planned to explore today. My level had increased, and I felt like I understood a little more about Gods and the Raven Warriors.

We decided to go back to the temple.

I guess by now, Pauline-san is done with her business too. She should be able to tell me about Father and the enemy.
