Isekai Nonbiri Sanpo Tabi

Walking, Chapter 439: Adventurer Guild’s Grandmaster

When we reached the fifth floor, Shiro and the others immediately went over to the window to look outside.

“Wowww! It’s so high up!”

“Now, now, don’t get too carried away. Besides, the royal castle was even taller, wasn’t it?”

Kids really did seem to love high places. Once Fran and Horn grew bigger and stronger, they should be able to fly using their own wings. At least, that was what I expected.

“All right, we’re going into the office now, so please be quiet from here on out.”

“““Okaaay!”””

Shiro and the others, along with Ao, cheerfully responded to Arisa-sama’s warning. Still, they were good kids who listened when told what to do, so I wasn’t too worried.

Knock, knock.

“Come in.”

When Arisa-sama knocked on the door of the spacious office, a young man’s voice answered from inside. Since this was the Adventurers’ Guild in the royal capital, I’d expected the Guild Master to have a much older voice. For a moment, I found myself wondering if I’d heard correctly.

But as soon as we entered the office, I understood why.

“Ah, there you are. I’ve been waiting for you.”

The person greeting us was indeed a young man. He wore clothes predominantly white in color and looked at us with a gentle expression. His distinctive long, pale green hair and slightly pointed ears made it immediately obvious that he was an elf. Standing beside him was a woman who appeared to belong to the demon race.

Well, well. She was wearing nothing more than an ordinary business suit, yet her figure was strikingly alluring, and she made absolutely no effort to hide it.

I’d better stop imagining anything more, or Sue would have something to say about it.

“Grandmaster, I see you’re here as well.”

“Well, you see, I received a very interesting letter from you, so I wanted to see things for myself.”

It seemed Arisa-sama had more or less expected the man before us to be here. She looked at the elf with a slight, wry smile.

“Aside from Arisa and Sue, this is our first meeting. My name is Quasar, and I serve as the Grandmaster of the Adventurers’ Guild in this kingdom. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”

“The pleasure is mine. My name is Shun.”

“I’m Shiro! And this slime is Ao!”

“I’m Fran!”

“I’m Horn.”

Quasar-san walked over to us and even shook each of our hands.

Wow. I could feel an incredibly powerful aura coming from him. It was impressive in a way that was entirely different from His Majesty’s and the Queen’s.

We took our seats in the sitting area of the office.

“The Guild Master happens to be away at a meeting right now. Would you mind waiting a little?”

“Oh, yes. I don’t mind at all.”

“Hehehe. Thank you. Still, Shun, you certainly have a keen eye for detail. I suspect that when Arisa knocked on the door, you were already trying to imagine what sort of person was inside.”

As expected of the Grandmaster, Quasar was remarkably perceptive. He had probably realized that I’d been trying to figure out what kind of person the owner of the voice was when I heard him answer the door.

“Grandmaster, I see you’ve taken a liking to Shun.”

“Of course I have. There are very few adventurers whom Arisa praises, and Shun has already accomplished a great deal. Adventurers like him are a rare breed.”

Hmm. It wasn’t as though I’d become an adventurer with the intention of making a name for myself.

In any case, it looked like we’d have to wait a little while.
