“Mmmm, it’s already morning huh.”

As the sun rose and I could hear birds chirping, I woke up in my tent.

“Muuu, mmmm, ku~u, ku~u”

Inside the sleeping bag, Shiro and Ao are still sleeping while clinging to me. Ao hadn’t woken me up in the middle of the night, so I guess it’s safe outside. Well, I had placed the food and other things that would likely be targeted in my item box, so there shouldn’t be any smell that could tempt the wild animals.

Now then, I have to make some preparations. I carefully get out of my sleeping bag so as not to wake Shiro and Ao and then I start preparing breakfast. We’ll have a light meal and set off right after.

“Got it. They’re just wolves, let’s take them down quickly.”

Two hours have passed since we left the campsite. There is still a forest on one side of the road, so some animals attack but it is in moderation. It’s also a good way to practice magic so it’s just right. Compared to yesterday, I’ve gotten a lot better at using magic.

I use air bullet to reduce their number, and Shiro and Ao rush in. Well, Ao is still a logistic support type, but he likes to charge. We defeated the wolves in no time so we took a short break while I asked Ao to drain the blood.

“We’ll reach the town soon. From the looks of it, it won’t take more than two hours.”

“You’re right. We are a lot closer to the town.”

When I put out the world map and checked our current location, it appeared that we could arrive in the town before noon as I originally expected. Ao, who had finished draining the blood, also came over and looked at the world map from my back.

The nice thing about the world map is that I can also see what day of the month it is. It’s the end of January now so it’s cold, but it doesn’t feel like it’s a harsh winter. However, since we are heading to the southern frontier territory, it may be warmer than the rest of the country. With that in mind, I continued walking, watching Shiro who is walking ahead of me as happily as ever.

As we approached the town, the number of people around us gradually increased. The highway leading from the surrounding villages also joined, so the number of merchants and travelers increased rapidly.

“Oh, is that so? Then you want to become an adventurer together with your brother?”

“Yes!”

“Uhm, thank you for having a conversation with Shiro. I’m sorry for the bother.”

“No worries. I’m talking to such a cute girl so it’s okay.”

“Yes, she’s so cute. She’s just like my grandchild.”

Before I knew it, Shiro went talking to a group of aunts who were walking in front of us. Together with Ao, who is on top of Shiro’s head, they are talking earnestly about what they are looking forward to as an adventurer.

The aunts are also smiling as they listen to Shiro’s story.

“Let’s camp around here today.”

The sun is slowly setting so I decided to camp here for today. In order not to interfere with the passage on the main road, I mowed the grass at the edge of the road and leveled the soil. Magic is really useful, and in no time at all, we had a place to sleep. After setting up the tent and laying out the sleeping bag, it’s time to prepare dinner.

There is a convenient thing called a magic stove, so I used it to cook. Not having to start a fire is very helpful when preparing for camp. There is also a certain amount of food and knives to use in the item box, which is very convenient as I don’t have to dismantle the prey we just killed. Well, I don’t know how to dismantle it either.

“It’s a little early, but dinner is ready.”

Today I made a simple dish of stir-fried vegetables and grilled meat, and we eat it with bread. Both Shiro and Ao are smiling as they eat their dinner.

I had the leftovers sandwiched in the bread and save it for tomorrow’s breakfast. As for the dishes and pots, they were quickly washed in the nearby river before I used cleaning magic. I don’t even need detergent, magic is really convenient.

In addition, I also cleaned up our body and clothes using cleaning magic. I’m very grateful that I can try out magic spells that I think would be nice to have and actually use them. I’d also like to get a list of spells that I can use somewhere.

We have to get up early tomorrow, so after cleaning up, we decide to get into our sleeping bags early. Night has already fallen around us. I can hear insects chirping, but I can’t hear wild animals’ cry. I turned off the lights to sleep, but then Shiro huddled towards me. Even though I’ve prepared two sleeping bags, Shiro wants to sleep with me.

“We should arrive in the town around noon tomorrow. We’ll start early in the morning, but let’s do our best to walk.”

This is how the first day of coming to another world is over. While feeling the warmth of Shiro sleeping with me, drowsiness gradually came over to me.

Alright, now that we’ve landed in another world, let’s take a look at the members again.

I’m Shun and I’m 14 years old. I have short black hair and is about a 160cm tall, I think. I just checked the world map earlier, and since it’s the cold season, I’m wearing blue long-sleeved shirt and long pants plus a dark coat.

Shiro is walking and spinning in front of me. She is eight years old and about 120cm tall. She has semi-long bob hair that are closer to silver hair than white, and her ears are pure white. But her skin looked porcelain like a human’s. She is wearing long-sleeved dress-like top and shorts even though it’s winter. She also has a cape-like jacket.

Ao, who’s on top of Shiro’s head, is about the size of two fists and is crystal clear blue in color. For some reason, it’s on Shiro’s head all the time.

Okay, back to where we are at. We are still walking down the road and it’s such a peaceful route.

“Hello!”

“Yes, hello.”

We passed a few people on the way, and they greeted us in a relaxed manner. No dangerous animals or monsters appeared, and the only sound I could hear is the sound of us talking.

“Fufufu-fun~!”

Shiro is humming as she walks. She’s apparently enjoying the walk. 

As we walk, the scenery on the main road changes. A river flows on the right side of the road, and a forest is visible on the left side. Since there is a forest, we should be more careful than before to make sure that animals and monsters do not catch us off guard.

Rustle. Rustle.

“Ah, it’s rustling! Will something come out?”

The bushes near us started to make rustling noises and everyone became tense.

“Grrrrrr……”

“Oh, it’s a wolf! Tou!”

“Everyone, get ready for bat— Oh, already…… ”

A pack of about 10 wolves appeared. But before I could tell them to get ready for battle, Shiro and Ao rushed into the wolf pack. I quickly supported them with air bullets.

“Tou! Yaa!”

Shiro kicks the wolves one after another. Ao also tackled a wolf and pushed it away, then Ao used wind magic to cut off its neck. The battle was over in no time at all. Ao is now starting to drain the blood of the wolf it had killed.

“Sigh. Shiro, it’s not good to jump out like that all of a sudden, you know. Next time, please make sure to say a few words first before you go.”

“Got it!”

Shiro must have felt refreshed after her rampage, as she nodded at my advice with a grin. Hmmm, why do I think she’s going to charge like that again. 

Oops, Ao told me that it had finished draining the blood. I decided to put the wolf in the item box. I wonder how much it will cost if I sell it in the guild.

After that, wolves and wild boars appeared, but we all defeated them. Shiro calls out to me, but she still rushes in without waiting for my orders. Ao also rushed in with Shiro, so I’m the only one in the rearguard.

Sigh, I’d like to have a few more party members.
